Namibia - where you'll meet friendly people who are as open as the majestic vistas of this spectacular country. Here less than two million residents inhabit a country about half the size of Alaska; that is 1 person for every 50km². Namibian people are as varied as the landscape, but they share an exceptionally valuable quality – their hospitality. While many Namibians still lead a traditional, semi-nomadic lifestyle, herding cattle and goats, the economy is supported by about 200,000 skilled workers, as well as a small, highly educated and experienced professional senior and executive workforce.

Rich alluvial diamond deposits make Namibia a primary source of gem-quality diamonds; however its most valuable asset is undoubtedly Namibia’s unspoiled, natural beauty.

Dotted with ghost towns and shipwrecks, Namibia features one of the most characterful, yet desolate coastlines in the world. The sweeping dunes of The Namib Desert spread inland, where the escarpment of a north-south plateau slopes away to the east and north and into the vast interior sand basin of The Kalahari. In the far northwest, the Kaokoland Mountains hug the coastline, while further inland lies The Etosha Pan - a large endorheic salt lake surrounded by grasslands and bushveld which support an abundant variety of wildlife. The Etosha National Park is one of the finest game reserves in Africa, remaining to a large extent, free of human influence.

Each of the 10 regions earmarked by Desert Star, presents filmmakers with the most diverse selection of incredible scenery, magnificent sunsets and natural props.

Conservation

Conservation is a constitutional priority in Namibia and it is indeed the only country in the world that has specifically addressed conservation and the protection of natural resources within its constitution. This policy lies in perfect synergy with Desert Stars corporate sustainability program.

Namibia: A Diamond in the rough

Believed to be the safest country in Africa and boasting a highly progressive constitution, Namibia is both peaceful and politically stable.
